Server requirements

Operating system

RecommendedUbuntu Server 24.04 LTS (what Eurion tests on)
Accepted by the kitUbuntu 22.04, Debian 12, RHEL/Rocky/AlmaLinux 9

The server should be a clean installation used only for Eurion. The kit installs Docker from Docker's own package repository and enables the firewall (ufw on Ubuntu/Debian, firewalld on RHEL) and fail2ban for SSH.

You need a user with sudo. The installation runs locally on the server, so you do not need a separate Ansible machine.

Hardware

The kit stops the installation if the server has less than 4 vCPU or 8 GB RAM.

Disk

Files and recordings grow fastest. Allow about 1 GB per user per year, plus space for backups (kept on the same server for 30 days) and for old versions' images, which are kept after an update.

Network

  • A public IPv4 address that reaches the server, directly or via port forwarding. It is needed for Let's Encrypt certificates and for calls (TURN and media).
  • A domain where you can create A records.
  • Outbound internet access. What is needed is listed in DNS and firewall.

Clients

Users only need a web browser. On mobile, the app can be installed on the home screen straight from the browser (from version 1.6.2).
